Of the many random things I enjoy about my occasional forays back onto the mainland, few rise as high in the rankings as road trips. Take someone like Podge and they would rather eat gruel three meals a day for a week than endure sitting in a car for any length of time. For me though, there is nothing better than hitting the open road, seeing new, random places, eating new food, meeting new people. (and it helps stave off Island Fever…a big plus)

After four cross countries treks and too many multi-state voyages to name, I have amassed quite a collection of favorites. Locations, restaurants, hotels, you name it. Today I share the first of these w/ you, one that I first discovered just outside of my beloved Nashville on the front leg of a journey that took me clear to Missoula…

For those of you that may be uninitiated, the Loveless is first and foremost a mecca to southern cooking. Biscuits. Fried Chicken. Sweet tea. The have other things, but why would you bother? As proof, a couple years ago Bobby Flay visited the Loveless as part of his Throwdown series (which even featured a young up-and-coming Luke Bryan as a judge). A snippet of said show…
