For this week's random photo….meet my new buddy Rufus!
As no day can really be spent writing for ten solid, unending hours (trust me, the mind and the fingers are simply not made for such things), often I break up the chapter w/ quick walks through the area.
As I am fortunate enough to live right off Pacific Beach for the time being, this afternoon I found myself strolling the boardwalk and met this handsome devil. As you can tell, the poor guy was absolutely spent from his three block hike to make it there, but rest assured he was actually quite glad to receive any and all loving there was to be shared.
Needless to say…we became good buddies instantly. If he happens to come up missing, I had nothing to do w/ it. 🙂

This was an outstanding story! I honestly couldn’t put it down. I worked in a police department a few years back and your description of the inter workings of a police department were spot on. The characters were well written and the story, gripping to the last word. As a dog dad of two beagles, I found myself enjoying everything you wrote about Billy. I am looking forward to reading “The Good Son”.
