In a bit of news that flew well under the radar this past week, the world lost a very kind soul, and a truly funny and gifted comedian in Jon Pinette this week. A man of extreme proportions, he turned his battles with girth into humorous snippets, more or less stating that he understood food would be his undoing, but that he loved it too much to stop.
While his passing is tragic, and far too young (he was just fifty at the time), he did leave an indelible print on all of us that enjoy food, gym, and observational humor (and he was a big proponent of the clean comedy movement).
While all his work is available on Youtube (the Im Starving special is fantastic), here are a few of my favorites over the years.

“Salad isn’t food. Salad comes with the food. Salad is a promissory note that something good is going to happen… and I should just wait right here.”
